This document describes how to submit files to the SSD Grants server for Mac. This document assumes that you already have your CNet ID, a SFTP client and internet access.

  1. Open your SFTP client: Open MacSFTP by double-clicking on its icon.

  2. Enter Connection Information: In the Host Name field enter ssdgrants.uchicago.edu. Enter your CNet ID in the Login field and your password in the Password field. Then click the Connect button.

  3. Submit File: Drag the file you want to submit to the appropriate folder in the SFTP client window. Depending on the size of the file and the speed of your internet connection this may take only a moment or several minutes. In this example, we are submitting a file called mygrants.txt to the _Economics folder. Please make sure you drop your file in the correct folder, otherwise the wrong FSR will be notified.

  4. Disconnect: Once the file has completely uploaded you can now quit this program. Your FSR will be automatically notified of your file submission. You will also receive an email message giving you details of your file submission, including the size of the file that was received on the server. We recommend you double check that the size of the file received is the same as your original file. If these two sizes do not match, please resubmit your file. To check the size of your file: Click on your file and select Get Info from the File menu.
