How do I Obtain X-Win32?

You can get a copy of X-Win32 in two ways:

Download it and install it yourself from the web. Log in to https://iota.src.uchicago.edu/ with your SSCS username and password. Next, click on the link Licensed Software Downloads. Finally, click on the download link next to XWin32 and save a copy of the installer to your machine. Make sure you click on the "keyfile" and copy down the License Key that is displayed on that page, you will need to use it later.
Request a CD-R copy of the installer from Desktop Support, or e-mail sscstech@listhost.uchicago.edu to request a technician install X-Win32 for you.
To remove the old X-Win32 version, go to Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs. Choose X-Win32 6.1, click on Change/Remove, then choose Remove.

Step 3 - Read the License Agreement if you want, to continue click the Next button in the dialog box .

Step 4 - Enter the your name and organization. Click the Next button to continue.

Step 5 - You will be prompted for an installation destination. The default is usually fine. Click the Next button inside the dialog box to continue.

Step 6 - Click the radio button next to Complete, if it is not already selected, and then click the Next button in the dialog box to continue.

Step 7 - Click the Install button in the dialog box to start the installation.

Step 8 - Click the Finish button in the dialog box to complete the installation.
