Adding Machines to the Inventory

  1. Log into SolarWinds at https://sscshelp.uchicago.edu/
  2. Click the ‘Assets’ tab on the left-hand side
  3. Go to ‘Computers’
  4. Click the search bar on the right-hand corner and enter the computer name for the machine you are entering into inventory (You can also use the global search at the top right-hand corner)
  5. Once you have found the computer:
    • Fill out the User Details: Enter the Owner and Technical Contact
    • Enter the Location Details
    • Select the ‘Custom Fields’ that applies for this machine
    • Click the ‘Lifecycle’ tab
    • Scroll down & fill out the details for ‘Purchase’
