ArcGIS Pro requires named-user activation as of September 2024. Previously, activation was being handled automatically via a license server.
There is still no purchase is necessary to use ArcGIS Pro in SSDLAB, but there is an additional step to activate it the first time you launch it.
To activate ArcGIS Pro, please follow these steps:
- Open the ArcGIS Pro application and you will see the ArcGIS Sign In window.
- Click the ‘Select your ArcGIS organization’s URL‘ button and enter ‘uchicago’ into the URL box. Click “Continue.
- You will be directed to the UChicago sign-in page. Log in with your CNetID.
- Enter your CNetID and password, then click “Sign In.” By default, the “Sign me in automatically” check box is selected. As long as you keep this option selected and do not sign out of ArcGIS Pro, you will not need to sign in again during subsequent launches.
- Verify that your ArcGIS Pro is activated with a Named User License by navigating to the “Project” tab and selecting “Licensing.”
